Anyone fancy joining one? Basketball

I'm kinda hooked on Glen wedding threads. You know the type? Lots of pictures of dresses and cakes and hampers, lots of posts where people run around hugging each other, lots of two lined posts etc? I kinda enjoy them for their enthusiasm and also because I know that the couple of players roleplaying the newly weds are really happy. Also roll my eyes a lot, but hey, that's part of the entertainment.

Anyone up for crashing these threads?

One simple rule for the club:

No hijacking of the threads. We're there to enhance the occasion, not spoil it. I'd like players to think 'yay' if they see us turn up.

Asides from that a simple points system can be worked out to see who is the best wedding crasher of the month. Points could be given for the following, but please add more suggestions if you have them.

* linking a pic of your wedding outfit
* giving a wedding gift
* linking a pic of that gift =p
* a good bluff if challenged on why you came to the wedding
* dancing with the bride or groom at the reception
* making a toast to the happy couple
* volunteering to step into an essential role if someone else in the wedding party fails to materialise
* officiating at the service
* posting as your character and not a mask

Who fancies it? =)

lol...if it was all in fun and those that made the Rp are ok with yeah. (yeah I know how I sound lol I just hated when people trolled my Rp's )

Think a group of drunks would liven things up though?

I think a variety of people turning up unexpectedly could really make a wedding thread go with a zing =) Weddings are traditionally public events.

And yup, all in fun, no hijacking of the thread - purely there to enjoy and celebrate in the rp style established by the wedding party =) We'd be enhancing the experience, not mocking it!

I can't abide wedding threads, ball threads or any happy, happy, joy, joy threads. But that is just me I guess. One or two are ok, but when you go to a place that should have some really good RP and find nothing but goo, it kinda takes the edge off. For those that love that sort of thing, great Smile but it isn't for me. Too much of a grumpy git I guess lol!

Meh, I had this whole wedding script thought up. It was going to be a Greco-Roman/ninja style wedding, with horse sacrifices and all sorts of crazy business. But different plans kept falling through and it wound up being too much of a hassle to do it that way.

There was one particular person who agreed to be my flowergirl, and then backed out of it like a few days before the wedding because she was suddenly anti-mushy RP. They never saw the script and it's like why agree to a wedding at all then?

Weddings don't have to be mush.

Anyway...blarg. Razz

I'm thinking of considering this when I gets back, which is meant to be this weekend >.> I agree it makes sense you could have crashers, weddings would be public so why not? If they're really unhappy about it, we can disappear, but something different to spice it up isn't always bad.

And ya, P&P wedding was awwwwwwesome. There was one we set up to be completely comic as well which was fantastic fun, one of my favourite threads ever Laughing Then a random Irvine one. That was just silly.

I was quite dissapointed when I finally read this thread. The title was quite promising, but as it turns out this had nothing to do with what I had in mind. Crying or Very sad

*shoos the wedding haters away*

I think there's some yays in there? bounce

Cool =) Long as we're not mocking and stuff it should be fine. This ain't about elitism re what makes a good thread or imposing what we think weddings should be like, but about adding to their fun and happy event ^^

I think I'm going to start wading in.

*goes wedding thread pic hunting!*
