We have an NNGO guild set up on Lammania so we can find each other easier. Look for Toasteroven or Laserlips (since we'll probably be on our artificer experiments) to find us!

I demand feedback on your artificer experiments!

Been reading the ddo forums about them and they sound amazing!

Thus far.. Pretty ridiculous lol. Anto and I have been running at-level quests (with the 1000% XP boost we're up to level 10 now) with nothing more than starter stuff and whatever crap we find in chests. Neither of us has died yet. We're duo-ing everything.

Even the Ember Repeating Great Xbow (Korthos reward) becomes a pretty decent weapon when you add the artificer spells/enhancements to it - PrE gives you a +2 enhancement bonus that stacks on top of the weapon's enhancement, the Elemental Weapons adds 1d6 elemental damage with your choice of flavors, and Insightful damage will stack with Elemental weapons on a crossbow to change the damage modifier to the int mod.

Haven't blown a trap yet, but there's been some I can't spot or search, don't really have much in the way of equipment for that either though.

The doggies are fun, they get bigger as you level and they have their own AP (separate from your toons) to add enhancements to them. Seem to be smarter than the average hireling, if a bit bugged (any time you change an instance or enter a quest you have to dismiss and then resummon them, they'll appear but not follow or attack). Still haven't figured out how to put armor on them, though there is a slot for it on their character sheet.

Overall, pretty self-sufficient and self-healing as a WF. Rune arms are useful only sometimes, though the imbue damage onto weapons held in your main hand is nice.

Repeater x-bows kick some ass. There is a clicky you get 5 times per rest that gives you 6 seconds of machine gun like fire on your repeater.

Level 10 with no gear or money. Didn't send them a thing. With self heals hasn't been a problem.

They got some interesting spells I haven't tried yet, some with potions. They get some uber bonuses with wands and scrolls, and the dog is pretty sweet. Mine runs around breaking boxes when I stand around; I named mine Kleeborp (you can name them in game) and its funny how at level 1 the dog is tiny but at level 10 its getting pretty big.

I been using the electric damage spells and repair spells for self heals. The spell to conjure arrows is cheap and they last until you log out. I have no luck pulling a rune arm yet tho, so haven't tried that.

With 1000% xp until Monday, in deleras part 2 you get like over 100k xp with optionals. Its not hard to level them up for testing, and has been pretty fun so far. Smile

I think they deleted all characters on Lamma land didn't they? Although, I may be able to create a new one there to test things out... not sure when as I won't have a lot of time this weekend and I want to try to get Trapp flagged for Reaver's and then hit the Orchard.

I was guessing that for mine as well for the self healing. Also they no breathing air and mummy rot are a huge plus

I read that they also get blade barrier as a spell around lvl 15? It really does sound like this is the toon to have to be able to solo the game.

They do get BB, though their SP pool is comparatively low. I think a pure caster-focused build is feasible but would be lacking compared to a caster-focused FVS. Crossbow build is the obvious choice, but any ranged toon really needs to be able to melee or offensively cast end-game; pew-pew kiting just pisses everyone else off. Looking forward to messing with the planner when it goes live and there's a new planner update; I've found that I'm very reliant on it now and building as I go is difficult lol.

supposedly there is a feat they can take;

that will make repair spells/reconstruct work on yourself as a fleshie for heals...

they do get blade barrier and a similar spell to meteor swarm as well, along with some SWEET buffs that make your weapon bypass ALL alignment based DR, or use your INT modifier for attack or damage instead of DEX/STR ect.

These are INT based classes, so you will be overflowing in skill points. Also, these seems to be a good build to make if you are rich. For example, all scrolls cast by an artificer gain something like 3+ levels, wands dont deplete as fast and gain levels/DC's, you can make these weird potions that explode into area of effect heals (its like throwing a pumpkin head grenade, but when it explodes it casts CSW on everyone near).

Why I say expensive is because you will want to buy them these scrolls ect. You don't have to go WF but it made the most sense to me and I don't regret it so far. Smile

Still wonder what they are like at end game myself Razz
